This is the group of Israeli scouts that will be coming through upstate NY this summer. One of the cute young men in the back row will be staying at our house for a week in August.
Mexico, NY that is. We spent the afternoon with the Meffords, ostensibly to make maple syrup, so here is Cal skimming the last batch (they had already made about 4 gallons).
At Komachi Sushi on Marshall St. I treated myself to lunch even though I shouldn't have - I'm on the austerity plan this month. But I went up to the SU bookstore to get Cal an "I Bleed Orange" tshirt and it just sounded so good when I walked by. It was so great to get out of my office and take a walk on this gorgeous day.
Last weekend we got a 3-pak of socks with monkeys on them. Well, 2 had monkeys and one was plain. So she decided to draw her own picture on the plain ones. But she drew dogs instead of monkeys. So clever.
This is quite new. Someone mentioned it to me - I hadn't been there in a couple weeks.
The prices are high and the selection is limited, but at least they're trying - there's this case of food and then a list of "safe" items (not much on that, believe me). It's a start.
Kind of poor photo, but fun to have - Dawn and I pose with Kristen Kratzert at the WRJ monthly meeting. Yet another triumph for us - great turnout and Kris was terrific.
Left my phone at home when I picked up Roxy for her walk. Then we met an opossum in the park on one of the only days I couldn't take a picture. Not sure why it was wandering around, considering that they're nocturnal. Roxy walked right up to it and they were nose to nose for a moment - the opossum was not amused, but Roxy was just curious. I was so close, I could have gotten a terrific photo. So frustrating.
